I really like this pot's circle/square thing. I also envy its restraint and subtlety. In my hands, I would have painted a busy pattern and obscured the ripple pool pattern. I wonder if this one is thrown and then squared? It's a riddle as the best pots usually are.

Michael, a little of the effect of this piece is also in the staging of the photograph. I think you would have resolved the ripple differently, and I don't see busy when I look at your work.

yep, it's a beautiful photo of a lovely piece. impeccable staging. if you bought it, you'd have to find a suitable branch.

I think the artist threw a slab & up-turned the corners . . . to give it that handbuilt? thrown? look. It's a wonderful piece & a stellar photo!
